Foreign Vessel Information



The following information is provided in response to your request for Tank Vessel Examination.  There are two fees involved.

Overseas Inspection and Examination Fees.  46 CFR 2.10-120

In addition to any other fees, an overseas inspection and examination fee of $4585 must be paid for each inspection and examination conducted outside the United States and its territories.
This fee must be paid in U.S. currency by a check or money order drawn on a U.S. bank, and made payable to the U.S. Treasury.  This payment must be received at the following address prior to the examination:

Fees for Examination of Foreign Tankships.  46 CFR 2.10-125

Each foreign tankship of a country party to SOLAS must pay $1,100 for examination and issuance of a Tank Vessel Examination Letter.  If the country is not a party to SOLAS this fee may be significantly higher.

This fee must be paid in U.S. currency by a check or money order drawn on a U.S. bank, and made payable to the U.S. Treasury.  This payment must be received at the following address prior to the examination:

Application Form for Tank Vessel Safety Examination/Certificate of Compliance

*The above fees must be paid prior to the start of the inspection.
*The remittance must include the vessel's name and the IMO Number on it.
*We will also need evidence that the vessel intends to call on a United States port.  This is usually the cargo charter or similar documentation.
