Lieutenant Caitlin E. Piker
Lieutenant Caitlin Piker assumed command of USCGC Joseph Gerczak (WPC 1126) in July 2023. She reports from U.S. Coast Guard Pacific Area in Alameda, California where she served as the Military Aide to the Pacific Area Commander from May 2021 to June 2023. In this role she prepared all travel arrangements and provided logistical support to the Commander. These engagements included visits with Coast Guard units, industry, all levels of U.S. Government, and international Allies and partners across a 74 million square mile area of responsibility.
Prior to her position as a Military Aide, Lieutenant Piker served as Executive Officer of two patrol boats: USCGC Sitkinak, a 110-ft patrol boat homeported in Highlands, New Jersey, and USCGC Lawrence Lawson, a 154-ft Fast Response Cutter homeported in Cape May, New Jersey. In her first four months aboard Sitkinak, she facilitated a homeport shift to South Portland, Maine and a full crew swap with the recently decommissioned USCGC Ocracoke. Following the shift, Lieutenant Piker transferred to Lawrence Lawson where she conducted fisheries enforcement and search and rescue operations along the east coast from Maine to Florida.
For her first assignment, Lieutenant Piker served as a Deck Watch Officer aboard USCGC Alert, a 210-ft Medium Endurance Cutter homeported in Astoria, Oregon, from June 2017 to June 2019 conducting counter-drug operations in the Eastern Pacific. There she first served as the Weapons Officer, responsible for the training of boarding teams and execution of law enforcement operations. During her second year, she served as the Supply Officer, responsible for all long-range logistical support, procurement, and sustainment of the ship and it’s 75-person crew.
Lieutenant Piker graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Executive Officer
Lieutenant Junior Grade Frank A. Joslin
Lieutenant Junior Grade Frank Joslin reported to USCGC Joseph Gerczak (WPC 1126) as the Executive Officer in June 2023.
For his first assignment, Lieutenant Junior Grade Joslin served as a Deck Watch Officer aboard USCGC Thetis, a 270-ft Medium Endurance Cutter homeported in Key West, Florida from June 2021 to June 2023 conducting counter-drug operations in the Western Caribbean and migrant interdiction operations in the Florida Straits and Windward Pass. In this tour, he served as the Weapons and Law Enforcement Officer, responsible for the maintenance, administration, and readiness of weapons systems, ammunition, and boarding teams. During his second year, he served as the Communications and Information Center Officer, responsible for the cutter’s tactical and intelligence operations, and all mission critical communication equipment.
Lieutenant Junior Grade Joslin graduated from the United States Coast Guard Academy in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Government.
