                  COMMANDER COREY A. BRADDOCK

 

Commander Braddock is a 23-year veteran of the United States military, serving 15 years with the Coast Guard (USCG) and 8 years with the Army. Throughout his career, he served both Services with distinction leading troops, piloting aircraft, and serving as a staff officer across a wide array of organizational constructs.  Currently, CDR Braddock serves as the Executive Officer of USCG Air Station San Francisco.

CDR Braddock recently completed an assignment at CG Headquarters in the Office of Budget and Programs (CG-821).  As a CG-821 Program Reviewer, he oversaw the USCG’s Personnel & Human Resources portfolio – an account that made up 60% of the Service’s $12 billion budget and included over $4 billion for military, civilian, and retiree pay and benefits.  Operationally, he served as the Aeronautical Engineering Officer for Air Station Detroit, MI where he led a team that provided mission ready aircraft to support aviation operations in the Great Lakes and Caribbean regions. Prior to his tour in Michigan, CDR Braddock was assigned to the Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron (HITRON) based in Jacksonville, FL. There, he served as the Assistant Aeronautical Engineering Officer and led a department that maintained ten airborne-use-of-force helicopters supporting Joint Interagency Task Force South's counter-drug missions. In Detroit and Jacksonville, CDR Braddock served as a helicopter Instructor Pilot and Flight Examiner where he trained 70+ aviators on the intricacies of helicopter operations in challenging weather and operational conditions. Moreover, he was a lead Maintenance Test Pilot for both units where he validated safety of flight requirements before aircraft served in operational capacities. Before HITRON, CDR Braddock served as a search & rescue pilot and collateral duty officer at Air Station Savannah, GA. Preceding his Coast Guard service, CDR Braddock served with distinction in the United States Army. In the Republic of Korea, he was a lead operational planner for a 2500-soldier aviation brigade and the Commanding Officer for a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter company. Stateside, he trained National Guard and Reserve units for combat operations, led an aviation platoon, and acted as the Executive Officer for a headquarters company.

CDR Braddock earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY in 1996, a Master of Business Administration degree from American Military University in 2009, and a Master of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2016. He graduated from the Army’s Flight School in 1997, the Infantry Officer Strategy course in 2001, and the Combined Arms & Services Staff School that same year. His military experiences also include graduations from the Army's Airborne School, Air Assault School, and the Infantry Pathfinder course. He is a Department of Homeland Security Certified Acquisition Professional and holds a rating as a Federal Aviation Administration Rotorcraft Commercial & Airline Transport Pilot.
 

CDR Braddock’s awards include three Meritorious Service Medals, six Commendation Medals, and three Achievement Medals. He is married and has four children.  His wife Jennifer holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Mass Communication from the University of Florida and currently serves as an adjunct lecturer and course developer for the university’s distance-learning program.
