CDR Todd A. Remusat

Commander Todd Remusat is currently mobilized as the Deputy Commandant for Mission Support (DCMS) COVID Crisis Action Team (CCAT) Deputy Lead at Coast Guard Headquarters, Washington, DC. In this role, he coordinates service-wide COVID pandemic response efforts and develops and disseminates workforce policy, guidance and logistical support for Coast Guard workforce of over 50K personnel.

While not mobilized, he is assigned at Coast Guard Reserve Unit- Joint Staff South (CGRU-JSS), Suffolk, VA as the Administration Department Head as well as the Deputy Branch Chief for J7 Reserve Cyber/Information Operations as an Exercise Planner supporting the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Commander Remusat’s previous Coast Guard Reserve assignments include Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer to FEMA Region- VIII; Exercise Planner, CGRU-NORTHCOM; Supervisor, FORCECOM; Chief, Boards and Panels (RPM-1) and Deputy Branch Chief of Assignments (RPM-2), Personnel Support Center; Shoreside/Waterside Division Officer, Operations and Acting Executive Officer Port Security Unit 307; Military Out Load Supervisor, Sector Jacksonville, FL; Supervisor, Atlantic Area’s Redeployment Assistance and Inspection Detachment Team-III (RAID-III); Response Department, Marine Safety Office Savannah, GA and Tampa, FL; and, Prevention Department, Marine Safety Office Jacksonville, FL. Prior to joining the Coast Guard Reserve, Commander Remusat served 14 years in the Navy and the Navy Reserve. While serving in the Navy he was a Quartermaster on the USS SAMUEL ELIOT MORISON (FFG-13), USS ANTRIM (FFG-20), USS FAHRION (FFG-22), USS BOONE (FFG-28), and the USS PROTEUS (AS-19).

Commander Remusat has deployed in support of a variety of exercises and operations including COVID-19 Operations (2020-Present); Hurricane Michael (2018); Hurricane Harvey (2017); Hurricane Matthew (2016); Operation Unified Response, Haiti Earthquake (2010); Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (2008); Operation Iraqi Freedom Kuwait/Iraq (2004-2005) and following the 9/11 attacks he supported OEF Operations in Jacksonville, FL and Fort Campbell, KY from (2001-2004).

A Florida native, Commander Remusat enlisted in the Navy in 1986 and received his Coast Guard commission in 2002. He has an Associate of Science Degree in Radiation Technology from Central Florida Community College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental and Growth Management Studies from Rollins College and a Master of Arts Degree in Homeland Security (Crisis Management) from American Public University System.

Commander Remusat’s military honors and awards include the Meritorious Service Medal; Joint Service Commendation Medal, Coast Guard Commendation Medal (5 awards); Army Commendation Medal (2 awards); Joint Service Achievement Medal, Coast Guard Achievement Medal (5 awards), Navy Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and numerous other team and unit service awards. He is authorized to wear the Port Security Unit Officer Insignia, Marine Safety Insignia, Advanced Boat Forces Operation Insignia, Joint Chiefs of Staff Badge and the Command Ashore Insignia.
