Ombudsman
Katie Steward

Katie Steward is the ALERT’s Ombudsman and works to bridge the communication gap between the ALERT’s command and the families of the crew. Coast Guard Ombudsmen are communication links, they provide information and referral resources, and act as advocates for family members. Katie enjoys planning special events for the families of the crew such as ice cream socials and holiday parties for the kids, and works hard to keep families updated on the current events of the cutter and its crew through newsletters and other mediums.
